High Speed video is mostly used to analyse processes which happen too fast for the human eye to see.
The recordings are made at a much higher speed than normal for video and when played back at the normal videospeed the action is visible in slow motion. The difference with standard slow motion from standard recorded video is that there are much more frames filmed, so a proces can be seen more accurately then with normal slowmotion.
The recordingspeed for High speeds video is at least 300 frames per second instead of the standard 25 to 30 frames per second. Extra lighting is necessary to compensate for the shorter exposuretimes used per frame.
Example 1: industrial robot, recorded at 300 f/s
Example 2: industrial robot, recorded with 600 f/s
Example 3: Bird recorded with 300 f/s
